I tried fixing it myself but that didn’t work… I guess it’s time to visit the Hyundai service center.

It’s the balance of all things—holding together both chaos and order in the universe.
I heard that Hyundai has a kind of hidden recall where they add a trunk weight to stop the rattle. They’re aware of the issue and have a specific fix if you mention it.
I’m actually taking my car in today to have them install the weights. I’ll update later to confirm if this fixes the problem.
@Lyle
The dealership fixed mine a month ago. It worked well initially, but the rattle came back after a few weeks. It’s better than before, though. Hoping your fix is more permanent!
@Lyle
Adding weights to stop a rattle seems a bit odd, doesn’t it?

I’ll ask for more details after they’re done. If possible, I’ll snap a photo and share it here.
I’ve had my '24 HI5 for about 6 months now. As winter is rolling in here in Norway, I noticed an annoying trunk rattle. I found out that the “small rubber things” circled in the picture can be extended by twisting them. That fixed the rattle for me.
@Darcy
I tried something similar, but it seems my rattle issue is a bit different. Thanks for sharing though!

Currently, my biggest irritation is the rear seat belt buckle rattling against the plastic door panels when not in use. I need to find some soft fabric to dampen the noise. It feels like a design oversight.
@Darcy
The seatbelts in my car have an extra piece of material where the buckle rests, which prevents any noise as long as they’re retracted properly.
@Darcy
I’ve started hooking them around the headrests to stop the rattling.

That’s a clever workaround, but my passengers rarely bother, and I often forget. I’m planning to attach some soft fabric or rubber to the area where the buckle rests to finally put an end to this annoyance.
I tried using washers along with the side bumpers to solve the rattle. I’m not sure which one did the trick, but thankfully, the noise is gone.

Do you have any photos? It might help to see what you did.
@Jalen
What do you need a photo of? I could take one, but the duct tape and washers aren’t really visible. I placed one rubber and one metal washer on each bolt.
I just had the latest fix applied a few days ago, and it has resolved my rattle issues so far. The service advisor mentioned that it’s often items under the trunk mat rattling around that cause the noise, like the box of security wheel nuts. Make sure to clear out the trunk space completely before looking for other noise sources.
My trunk rattle issue was fixed last year, but the noise returned recently. They had to replace the washers again to get rid of it.
Here’s the Hyundai service bulletin for their fix:
I tried using some silicone sheet I had at home instead of the specified washers and it seemed to work just as well.
@Jai
That’s awesome, thanks for sharing!
