Finally got my Kia Niro 2024… how was your car buying experience?

Finally did it! 2024 Wind. 25k miles. Steel gray, charcoal interior. 100% dope.

It’s been a long process. Two months of researching, watching tiktoks and YouTube videos, reading lots of articles, lurking in this forum, test drives, and the visits to dealerships. Glad to finally close that chapter and start a new one (now I need to figure out how to turn off the alarm that keeps telling me there’s a car in the lane next to me).

What’s up, Niro Fam.

Nice ride! My daughter has a '22. Pre-refresh, and it’s the best car she’s ever had. Enjoy .

Leasing a 2024 Kia Niro EV right now and I can say that you made a great choice! I love my Niro EV. Mine is in Runway Red.

Nice! For the money, it’s definitely the right choice. It was either this or a 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV, which is solid, but I really like how this guy handles so much better.

@Eli
I had a 2020 Bolt EV before my Kia, and the Kia is on a whole other level. It feels futuristic, comfortable, and much more efficient. I’m thinking of buying it after the lease ends.

@Eli
If I don’t buy it, I’m interested in the Kia EV3 coming out in 2025.

I feel you. I’ve heard reports that it might be pushed out to 2026 though.

That’s fine, my lease expires in 2026. Good luck with your new EV!

Welcome to the Family. The more you get to know it, the more you will fall in love with it. Just know, the car will teach you both how to drive and how NOT to drive.

I totally agree with you on “Dreaded visit to the dealership”. For preowned cars, I never step foot in one without having a cheque for the full amount I’m willing to pay.

@Evans
And the sales talk! I had a guy ask me how much I make. A couple of others actually said ‘So what do I have to do to get you to come in today…?’

GAWD! I know that feeling. They’re so sleazy. If you have some time and want an entertaining read, I suggest reading ‘The Confessions of a Used Car Salesman’ from Edmunds. It’s a behind-the-scenes look at used car dealerships.

And to your point, I’ve been asked worse, so I totally get it.

Nice car!!

Kia Niro is way better than the Bolt.

You won’t hear any counters from me, friend.

Seems like you did a lot of research.

Good work! Enjoy!

Oh right, I saw it parked near me the other day…

Hold on, I think that’s mine.

Alarms are in the center near the speedometer settings menus.

Thank you! You might have saved me 20 minutes looking through the manual.

Welcome to the family! I have a '22 wind, and I think only an EV9 or that new Hyundai minivan (or maybe a GIFTED R1S) would pull me away.

I was almost on the Ioniq 5 track until I found out the dealer was more ‘Louie Vitone’ than Louis Vuitton.

How much was it out the door? Did you finance? If so, how much did you put down, and what’s the interest rate on the loan?
