Did you know Eco mode on AWD cars is mostly RWD and great for snow donuts?

So, I found out Eco mode on AWD cars mainly uses the rear wheels, which makes it awesome for doing snow donuts. What do you all think?

Haha, good times! But just so you know, Eco mode doesn’t mean it’s only RWD. The front wheels kick in when needed, like when starting or if the rear loses grip. Check the driver display; it shows how power is distributed.

You’re right. FWD does kick in if the rear wheels slip or when you’re stopping. But for donuts, it’s better to use Normal or Sport mode since they don’t limit torque as much. Oh, and don’t forget to turn off traction control by holding the button for a few seconds. Any mode will work after that… maybe not Snow mode though.

It’s a feature on full GT models. It sends most power to the rear wheels, keeps the car sideways, and turns off traction control. Pretty fun if you’re into that.

If you’ve got a GT (not GT Line):

  1. Switch to Sport or GT mode.
  2. Turn off traction control.
  3. Press the brake pedal fully.
  4. Hold both paddles for 3 seconds.
  5. The dash will show Drift mode is on.

I’m not a fan of Drift mode. It feels like I’m fighting against the car because it’s designed to keep the car sliding. I’d rather have full control myself.

I’ve seen low-mileage GT models for $37,500. They’re really tempting.

Don’t forget to budget for new tires, though.

Drift mode is the way to go for snow donuts.

I can confirm. Even if people are nitpicking here, the snow donut effect is still the same.

Sport mode makes the car so fast it’s a bit hard to control sometimes.

Just a heads-up: the front motor still gets used in Eco mode, so it’s not fully RWD.
