Dealership seems a bit off with their notifications... anyone else had this issue?

I got a recall alert for ICCU on the KIA Connect app, but no emails from the dealership about it. Anyone else experiencing this?

My dealership gave me a 5 cent discount for every gallon of fuel at Holiday Gas stations! We laughed so hard when that came in the mail.

LoL, that’s funny!

The finance guy at my dealership tried to joke around with “we’ll throw in free oil changes for life!”. It just felt off and scummy.

I have a feeling the ‘VIP Service Coordinator’ is just going to try to sell some unnecessary stuff.

To be fair, there is actually an oil change in the maintenance schedule.

And which oil would that be?

Differential oil :eyes:

I think it’s a combined differential and motor oil, if I remember right.

How often do you really need to change that? I just did it on my Nissan Leaf at 5 years old and 75k km (46k miles) and it was nearly black.

@Van
The manual lists when to change it based on driving conditions. In the EV6, it acts as gear oil and also gets sprayed inside the motor to cool it. There’s no oil filter in the system, so it might need changing more often than just regular gear oil.

@Levi
Well, I guess there’s not much need for a filter since the oil doesn’t touch any wear parts.

Exactly, no combustion byproducts to deal with.

Or any metal from piston wear and bearings.

They’ve been selling the EV6 for almost 4 years now, so they should have sorted this out by now.

Went into the dealership for the recall (specific to the EV6), asked about first service costs and what was included. The guy just mentioned oil changes and cabin filters. I ended up going to a different dealership after that.

Not a big deal, but I scheduled service for the ICCU recall and some other issues today. When I asked about regular maintenance, the woman at the service center said “regular service, like an oil change?”. Had to explain it’s an EV and I just wanted the inspection, tire rotation, etc. By the way, first available appointment is January 8th… that’s almost 3 weeks without heat in Upper Midwest Winter. At least I can use an electric space heater if I really need it.

Got alerts for scheduled 10k, 25k, and 40k service. Skipped them until I had recalls to take care of. All they did was replace the cabin air filter.

I just had the 2024 EV6 GT Line serviced. It’s covered, but if not, it costs $8,000 to change.

Got something similar, lol.
