I’ve noticed that the radio and lights sometimes remain on for hours, which seems to occur if I don’t manually lock the car.

The system should shut everything down when the doors are locked. It’s possible there’s a misunderstanding about the car’s auto-locking features.
@Reese
This usually happens when I park in my garage and don’t lock the car. I’d expect it to time out and turn off eventually.

That’s an interesting observation. I always lock my car, so I haven’t experienced this issue.
The i4’s interior quality far surpasses that of the Tesla Model 3, offering a significantly more luxurious and comfortable environment.
One minor but notable difference is the behavior of the i4 in reverse; unlike the Tesla, it doesn’t maintain one-pedal driving, which can be frustrating during precise maneuvers.

Having driven both a Tesla and a Rivian, I’ve grown to prefer the consistent one-pedal driving, even in reverse, although I can see how free-rolling might be useful in some scenarios.
After switching from a Tesla Model Y to an i4 M50, I find the BMW superior in almost every aspect, except for the phone-as-key feature.
Once you test drive the i4, the experience will speak for itself. It’s an outstanding vehicle that surpasses the Tesla in many respects. Don’t hesitate to give it a try!

We’ve decided to go ahead with the i4 and are excited for its delivery this Sunday!
The BMW i4 offers a more luxurious and refined driving experience compared to the Tesla, which feels more like a tech product than a traditional car. The i4 excels in areas such as comfort and usability, with a superior heads-up display and practical controls.
@Dai
While I appreciate the technological aspects of Tesla, I’m looking forward to the enhanced driving experience and quality of the BMW i4.

Test driving both a Tesla and a BMW will highlight the differences in build quality and driving experience, making it clear why many prefer the i4.

The absence of a proper dashboard or heads-up display in Tesla is a significant drawback. BMW’s approach to driver information enhances safety and engagement.
@Dai
Could you elaborate on the specific tech advantages you see in Tesla? From my experience, BMW’s features, especially in usability and driving assistance, tend to be more practical and refined.

The user interface in Tesla and Rivian feels more streamlined and intuitive compared to BMW’s, which can feel cluttered. However, BMW excels in almost every other aspect.
A test drive will best demonstrate the capabilities of the i4’s regenerative braking and overall feel. Despite some limitations with the digital key, the driving experience and comfort of the i4 are exceptional.
@Storm
I’m currently renting an i4 and am thrilled with the experience so far. Looking forward to more discoveries.
Having transitioned from a Tesla Model 3 to an i4, I find the i4 to be a superior ‘car’ in terms of traditional automotive qualities. While Tesla excels in some tech aspects, the overall quality and driving experience of the BMW are unmatched. The i4’s regenerative braking, while different, can be adjusted to suit your preferences.
@Roux
If you use the digital key, you can set it to load your custom driver profile, similar to how the key fob functions. This setting isn’t enabled by default but can be changed in the driver profile settings.
