I’ve been thinking about adding a heated steering wheel. So far, I’ve ordered a kit, though I’m unsure about it. I want to ask all the car enthusiasts here… is it possible to swap my steering wheel with a heated one? And is it worth it?
It really depends on whether the wiring harness in your car has the necessary leads and connectors for a heated steering wheel. If it does, the swap could be straightforward. If not, you might be out of luck unless you’re willing to run your own wires.

Absolutely! It will cost more than you’d like, but it’s definitely possible.

If you wanted to swap a Mustang V8 into the EV6 but keep the EV motor in the rear and hybrid the whole thing, you could do that too… if you had the funds!

Besides the cost and skill needed, don’t forget about the warranty. If something goes wrong with an unofficial retrofit, the dealer won’t help you.

According to the German price list, all versions in Germany come with a heated steering wheel.

Nope? We have a heated wheel here with a 78 kW capacity and rear-drive.

They added it to the RWD models later, I think in 2023.

It wasn’t available on my 2024 RWD. I have Raynaud’s and miss the heated wheel from our old car so much.
I had the same question. I know my 2008 Nissan Versa was pre-wired for fog lights, you just needed to swap the stalk for one with fog light controls and install the lights. Do you think the same is true for the EV6? Is the wiring already in place? Do I just need a new steering wheel and a button for the console?
