It is nothing big to worry about because it is just a software update, but they stopped OTA earlier this year for some reason. Oh well, my appointment is on the 19th.

Sure they are restarting OTA updates. This is one of the first to go out. Ours got the OTA update for this recall done yesterday.

Two modules of software be updated in less than 30 minutes. After being handled over the air, some now need a service visit since GM is risk-averse when it comes to safety issues.

GM is not overly risk averse, they have a problem with the ABS resulting in reduced braking. That is a very serious issue.

Fixing it via recall is the correct business decision.

Lyriq is their flagship platform, they cannot screw this up.

From a public relations perspective, a large number of people lack software literacy. People will feel better about it if a tech looks at it, even if it’s simply to make sure the OTA update was applied. GM values the public’s trust.

Presumably, most Tesla drivers are either sufficiently tech-savvy to rely on OTA, or Tesla is not interested in attracting the same clientele that GM is attempting to win over with this action.

I was recently told by two people and now I know who have Lyriqs that their cars have randomly died while they were driving, or have left them stranded and refused to start. vehicles kept in the shop for a long time.

Why is there so much trouble with this otherwise gorgeous car? I wonder.

I joined the other guys and took my 2024 Lyriq in for the recall and the Multiple Module Reprogramming on Friday Morning.

I was just told yesterday that they could not install the updates. I need to order a new module and it will take two weeks to get part. I am actually pissed.

It concerns the client base. While some may find single-peddle driving acceptable or even desirable, many people simply want something that operates like a car.

The larger percentage of Cadillac owners are in their 50s and 60s; they don’t want to learn how to drive a car on a single pedal with regeneration; all they want is for it to operate like a regular car but with the charging cable connected to the wall rather than the petrol tank being filled up.

An unacceptable idea. Why are you generalizing all drivers in their 50s and 60s into incompetent old people who can’t learn a slightly different driving style?

I know several folks in that age range who love EVs and have no issue with one-pedal driving.

Therefore, get your facts right.

I cannot believe a recall that is not related to Tesla on this sub. I have had so many Tesla fanboys tell me they never get posted.

But let me be on the look out.
