I’m thinking about getting the BMW Driving Assistance Professional Package 2024 for my new [BMW model]. Has anyone tried this package? Is it worth the extra cost? I’m particularly interested in the [specific feature, e.g., active cruise control, lane keeping assist].
A Professional Driving Assistance Package is what makes the car whole. Therefore, do not buy the car without the driving professional package.
I would have given you the full information, but I am kinda busy out here building the economy, so you will have to google what it comes with yourself or just sit there and wait for someone else to do the work for you.
Suppose you want to improve your BMW’s safety, and it is not already equipped with BMW’s Driving Assistance Package. In that case, purchasing this package is a great way to safeguard yourself against other vehicles and obstacles on the road, especially during heavy traffic.
Here are the work the package will perform to keep you safe:
Steering and lane control assistant: Helps keep the vehicle centered in its lane.
Active cruise control with stop and go: Maintains a set distance from the car ahead, even in stop-and-go traffic.
Traffic jam assistant: Provides semi-autonomous driving in heavy traffic.
Lane-keeping assistant with active side collision protection: Helps prevent unintentional lane departures and potential side collisions.
Crossing traffic warning: Alerts you to crossing traffic when approaching intersections.
Emergency stop assistant: Can bring the vehicle to a safe stop if the driver is unresponsive.
Therefore acquire the package and enjoy your ride.
Guys, I have this question although it is related to the topic and I need an answer urgently:
Does BMW Driving Assistance Professional Package 2024 have the ability to keep lanes (not departure warning, actual LKA) on city streets or only on highways?
Yes, the package can lanes on the mountain roads in my area, which is insane. It requires the road to have a center line. There is a YouTuber that compares it to other self-driving vehicles.
Just imagine everything Tesla diehard fans say about Autopilot and then think of it being better.
The Driving Assistance Professional Package is a great bang for the buck. Adaptive cruise control and lane keep capabilities alone are worth it. Lane change and highway assist are additional advantages.
I own a Model Y and had an X3M earlier this year with DA Pro. For now, I cannot regret it because it is worth every penny.
Hey, I just want to enlighten you to know that you can install adaptive cruise control after purchase as an over-the-air update even if you don’t get the Driving Assistance Professional Package.
It will only give you the plus version (which holds speed, does stop and go, and holds the lane, but unfortunately it is not hands-free and cannot switch lanes/navigate for you).
In addition, you can also install the Parking Assistant Pro (full features) as well as Driving Assistant Plus from the connected drive store. I actually did this in my 2024 iX (without a Professional Package). I can report that it works flawlessly since the new cars already have most of the hardware, but dealers will never talk about it.
It is also important to know that it is a subscription, so pay for it when you use it type thing. You can also buy a lifetime license for both packages from the store
Guys as you are there praising the package, I want to inform some of you who don’t know that Ix comes with a subscription-based autopilot.
This means that you can do monthly payments or lump sum which is around 1k. You will get a 3-month trial as well. It is pretty good, I came from a Tesla and I can tell you it is much better.
