Anyone else had two ICCU failures in less than two years?

Am I the only EV6 owner dealing with two ICCU failures? I have a 2022 AWD Wind EV6, and the first one failed back in June 2023. Kia replaced the ICCU, fuse, and 12V battery. Since then, I got one of the software updates (but not the latest one).

This morning, my wife left for work and got a ‘Check electric vehicle system’ warning. She had to crawl back home at 12mph before getting a ‘Stop vehicle and check power supply’ message.

Kia tow truck is on the way. Last time, the wait was 6-8 weeks. Hoping this isn’t another long one.

That’s worrying… I thought a fresh ICCU was supposed to fix this issue.

Yeah, I thought so too. Seems like Kia is just replacing parts and hoping for the best.

Maybe yours was just a one-off bad unit? I wonder if anyone else has had a second failure…

@Kei
I’ve seen posts here from people who had two or even three replacements.

Here’s one guy who said he’s on his third ICCU and has seen others mention even more failures:

@Flynt
Any idea if fast AC charging causes these failures? Or is it just random?

I’m on my second ICCU replacement in the past year.

@Aubrey
So this is your third one now?

Yep. Actually picking up my EV6 from the dealership right now. I’ll post an update later.

Hope it holds up this time. We’re all just trying to laugh through the pain at this point.

Yeah, seems like they’re just swapping parts and hoping it works.

Has anyone ever taken apart a failed ICCU to figure out what’s wrong?

Does anyone have a broken one lying around?

There’s a YouTube video of someone tearing one down. He expected to see burned components or leaking coolant, but everything looked fine inside.

@Quill
Got a link? My dealership won’t let me keep my bad ICCU, and I know a little about electronics.

Appreciate it!

Edit: Wait, this isn’t a Kia ICCU… Do they use the same part?

@Darian
Yeah, it’s the same ICCU model.
