Drove over 1000 miles this month and it’s been amazing.
@Ren
You’re so close to hitting the next milestone… exciting .
@Ren
You should’ve topped up $0.08 earlier this month. What happened?

It’s called Emporia.
I’m still using public chargers and a basic one at home until I can get an electrician. Even so, I’ve saved about $100 (CAD) on gas this week alone. It’s crazy to see the difference.
The cheapest rate I can get is double that

Yeah, with all the new data centres here in northern Virginia, I’m worried electricity prices will go up soon. Making the most of it while I can.
My cost breakdown looks similar. My old Acura TL would’ve cost four times as much in gas.

Same here. I had a K5 before this, and I used to spend $40-$50 weekly just for commuting. My office is 65 miles round trip, 3-4 times a week. It really added up.
@Thayer
I get that. My wife doesn’t quite see it since she works from home.
When I tell people my setup is like having an endless gas pump at home for just 75¢ per gallon, they can’t believe it. And on sunny days, my solar panels make it completely free. Their reactions are priceless.
What are you using to track all this? I’d love to set something up.
I use commercial fast chargers at €0.68/kWh, but my employer reimburses home charging at €0.35/kWh. I get around 23kWh/100km. My old diesel Skoda did 5L/100km with diesel costing €1.78/L.
Costs for 100km:
- Commercial DC: €15.64
- Home AC: €8.05
- My old Skoda: €8.90
(This is in Belgium.)
@Jordan
Here, it’s about $0.13/kWh, but I’ve paid up to $0.45 at fast chargers.
I’ve had my car since September 13th, and I’ve only spent $40.44 on charging. I charge at work for free and only paid for fast charging twice on long trips. It’s because I didn’t know how to use my free Electrify America credits, but I’ve figured it out now thanks to users here.
I was going to install a charger at home, but as long as my job provides free charging, I don’t see the point. I keep a portable charger in the car just in case.
