Any Recommendable Model 3 LR alternatives?

For employment, I could have to travel 200 miles a day round trip. I have included it in a buffer while estimating my mileage. I don’t find the driving time to be an issue. To be honest, my favourite aspect of this job is the commute. But I don’t want to use an ICE for this. I believe I’m prepared to switch to EVs. After doing some research, I believe that a CPO M3 LR would be the best choice. All I want is not a Tesla.

Because of the distance, I would prefer AWD. I do live in CT. I would also prefer something with carplay. If I buy new, NACS would be mandatory but I can compromise on used. I can install a charger at home but I am going to plan on mostly charging at the office.

Body type is unimportant right now. Although trucks are beyond my price range, I still desire one. I just require enough space for me.

Concerning some research I have done, the two potential models that are of interest the most are the Ioniq 5 and the I4. Of course, Hyundai’s dealer reputation is a huge knock against them. When the R3 from Rivian is out, I would give it some thought, but I know there will be a lengthy wait, and I really don’t want to spend another winter living with my Cruze. My Cruze is not as big as a penalty box as a Chevy Bolt.

I have an Ev6 and I love it. The Ionic, which is better in my opinion, has a different exterior and interior design but the same battery, motor, and software.

Fast charging with DC is incredibly quick. Usually, it takes me 12 to 14 minutes to cover 180 miles.

To avoid so much issues, get the Tesla because anything else is a compromise.

Just be patient a bit and wait for the next Ioniq 6 or EV6. They should be coming within the next few months with the NACS port included.

As most of the miles are probably on highways, the lower the drag coefficient, the better. In that case, the models which can be viable are the Tesla M3 and the Hyundai Ioniq 6.

The efficiency and range of the Ioniq 6 long range are quite similar. The Ioniq 6 is the closest non-Tesla equivalent I can think of, however, Tesla is somewhat more powerful and costs a little less.

Just to give my opinion, Mustang Mach E is the best model which can serve you well.

I am surprised because reading your language you will make too much of a compromise as there is really just one alternative and you ruled that out. In the case I don’t know how I can help you.

For the record, my standard range is 23 M3. My commute is roughly 220 miles one way. When I arrive home, I have 20–40 miles still to go. On my way back, I used to stop at a supercharger, but I have overcome my range anxiety.

The only reasonably priced options that come to mind are the extended-range Kia/Hyundai models (same car, different body panels).

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the best option for you. With a range of up to 303 miles on a full charge, you won’t regret acquiring one.
