Any 2024 Ioniq 5 owners out there; how is it going?

Hey everyone, I’m considering getting a 2024 Ioniq 5. I’ve read about some problems in earlier models like the ICCU, 12V battery, charging issues, and trunk rattling. Has anyone who owns a 2024 noticed if these problems have been fixed?

I’ve had mine for about 5 days now and no problems so far, haha. I’m also curious to see what others have experienced, especially regarding the ICCU issue. Hopefully, it’s sorted out!

I’ve had mine for 25 days now and no issues either. Seems promising so far!

@Nico
Been driving mine for 4 months and everything’s been smooth. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

Appreciate the feedback from you both!

I think the whole thing might be blown up on this forum. Most people who don’t have issues probably aren’t posting. Just make sure you get any recall work done and those problems should be sorted. I had to replace my 12V battery after about 16 months and 23k miles, but I’ve had to do the same with other new cars too, so it’s not specific to this model.

This is really relevant to me right now. I’ve been going back and forth between getting a Mustang Mach E or the Ioniq 5. I think the Ioniq is the better car overall, but I’ve been hesitant because of some of the reported issues. Someone in this thread mentioned that it might just be people complaining more than anything, and I hope that’s the case. I’ll probably go for the Ioniq 5 anyway, but I’m nervous since the dealer is an hour away, and I don’t want to keep running back there for fixes.

@Cameron
I’d go for the Ioniq 5 over the Mach E any day, but that’s just my opinion. I think the problems aren’t as widespread as it might seem. It’s just a matter of whether the price and wait time are worth it for a 2025 model.

@Cameron
Hey, just wanted to mention the name is Ioniq, not Ionic.

I’ve had mine for 8 months now and haven’t had any issues. I did take care of the recalls though. Other than that, it’s been running fine.

That’s good to hear! My only concern now is the lack of a rear wiper. Hopefully, it won’t be an issue later.

I doubt there’s much difference between the 2023 and 2024 models. I’ve had mine for a couple of months and haven’t noticed any changes compared to the older ones.

We bought a 2022 model (Hi5 SEL RWD) with 35,000 miles on it. It’s had the two recalls completed, and it’s been running great. The 12V is still the original, and it charges like a champ.

The car was originally purchased in July 2022, so it was likely shipped over from South Korea a month earlier. The previous owner never had it serviced, though. They lived way out on a ranch in rural Colorado, so I guess taking it in would’ve been a hassle for them.

I’ve noticed that the 12V charging light comes on almost every day when I get into my 2024 Limited. I don’t think the 12V battery is going to last too long in this model.
