I am aware of the steering wheel and silver trim options for the 2025 BMW iX, but does anyone know of any other design changes for the 2025 model? Some sources suggest a mid-cycle refresh. I ordered a 2024 model a month ago, but it’s now going to be 2025 since BMW has stopped producing the 2024s.
I am curious about what updates will be in the 2025 iX.
The 2025 BMW iX is indeed getting a mid-cycle refresh with several updates beyond the steering wheel and silver trim options you mentioned.
The following changes include:
Power and range enhancements: The 2025 iX will feature upgraded powertrains. The entry-level model, now called the iX xDrive45, will have 350 hp, while the iX xDrive60 will offer even more range, up to 700 kilometers on the WLTP cycle.
Design updates: There will be minor design tweaks, including a small headlight redesign and changes to the kidney grille graphics. The Iconic Glow package will be available for the kidney grille.
Interior and technology: The iX will continue to excel in technology with updates like the iDrive 8.5 system, although this will require a new head unit and won’t be available as an over-the-air update3. Additionally, an eSim enabling 5G connectivity will be standard across the board.
New model names: The model names will change, with the iX xDrive45 replacing the xDrive40, and the iX xDrive60 replacing the xDrive50. The top model will be the iX M70, which will include more M Sport features.
Optional packages: The Dynamic Handling Package will now be optional on the iX xDrive50 model.
I have seen the car and what I can say is that I don’t like the new steering wheel, which makes it look too normal for the car. The guys need to up their game if they want to remain in the game.
Girls with Netflix
Anyway here is how you can play Netflix in your BMW iX:
BMW Theatre Screen: The iX is equipped with a 31-inch panorama display that supports streaming services like Netflix. This screen is part of the “My Mode Theatre” feature, which provides a cinematic experience with ambient lighting and sound.
BMW Operating System: Ensure your vehicle has BMW Operating System 8.5 with ConnectedDrive Professional or BMW Operating System 9 with BMW Digital Premium. These systems support expanded video streaming capabilities.
Amazon Fire TV: The BMW Theatre Screen integrates with Amazon’s Fire TV, allowing you to stream Netflix directly. You can control the display using the touchscreen or the pads in the second row.
Screen Mirroring: If you prefer, you can use screen mirroring from your smartphone. This method allows you to mirror your phone’s screen to the car’s display, enabling you to watch Netflix through your phone.
